Connecticut Wealth Management (CTWM) is a well-established, fast-growing, independent, registered investment advisory firm. We are seeking a dynamic leader to oversee business owner planning engagements within our innovative business owner services program offering. This program offers business planning through a personal financial lens, helping entrepreneurs understand the interconnectedness of their personal and business finances. The Director of Business Owner Services will focus on the financial intricacies of business ownership, ensuring clients are prepared for key transition points and challenges while collaborating effectively with attorneys, accountants, and other advisors.

Responsibilities

Client Engagement

  • Conduct qualifying calls to gather financial snapshots and identify triggering events affecting business owners, such as profitability changes, retirement planning, or succession planning.
  • Facilitate prospect meetings to understand client goals and business narratives, engaging with both business owners and their key stakeholders.

Strategic Planning

  • Lead the development of personalized financial plans that incorporate both business and personal goals, utilizing a Goals Framework and Leadership Team Assessment.
  • Create and execute a strategic business plan for clients, ensuring clarity, prioritization, and timelines for successful outcomes.

Collaboration & Relationship Building

  • Work closely with internal and external professionals to provide comprehensive solutions, including organizational structure, employee policies, and risk management.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring consistent follow-up through monthly accountability meetings and quarterly strategy sessions.

Financial Analysis & Review

  • Oversee the collection and analysis of financial statements, assessing key themes, challenges, and opportunities for growth.
  • Develop and present distribution strategies and enterprise value assessments tailored to individual client needs, including potential M&A opportunities.

Client Experience & Feedback

  • Deliver an exceptional client experience by leveraging CTWM resources and fostering a culture of continuous improvement based on client feedback.
  • Summarize findings and recommendations, provide actionable insights to clients, and ensure alignment with their goals.

Team Leadership

  • Mentor and guide team members in delivering business owner planning services, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovative problem-solving and creative thinking.
  • Uphold CTWM’s overall strategy, values, and mission, actively contributing to a positive workplace culture.

  • Will need to work in our Farmington, CT office regularly with work from home flexibility.

Preferred Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Owned or operated a small to mid-size business or served in a C-Suite capacity in a similar sized business.
  • Demonstrable experience in coaching and strategic planning.
  • CPA or other relevant technical qualifications.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting financial statements.
  • Management or leadership experience
  • Experience in financial services environments is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
