Deborah Hopper
Director of People
Deborah brings extensive experience in human resources, talent development, and diversity/equity/inclusion to her position as Director of People at Connecticut Wealth Management. Deborah works with the entire Connecticut Wealth Management team and is responsible for establishing and maintaining policies and practices as well as attracting, developing, and retaining talent.
Prior to joining Connecticut Wealth Management, Deborah owned her own HR consulting firm and was the HR Director at Hartford Golf Club. Deborah also held senior-level HR positions in several large organizations with complex businesses including Prudential Financial, CIGNA, The Hartford, and Allstate Insurance Company. At Prudential Retirement, Deborah created and led the Talent Development and DEI functions.
Education
Deborah graduated from Assumption College with a degree in English and Sociology. She is certified in a number of leadership development assessment tools and coaching methodologies. These include PROSCI Change Management, Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centered Coaching, Korn Ferry Diversity education, Korn Ferry emotional intelligence assessments, Hogan personality/motives/values assessments, and Occupational Personality Questionnaire. She is also a seasoned facilitator with experience delivering a wide range of programs.
Affiliations & Community Involvement
Deborah is involved in the Northeast Executive Advisory Group as a founding member of the Diversity sub-committee. She also serves as a mentor for women who seek guidance on their careers including Untapped Potential – an organization that focuses on women returning to the workplace. She has also served on the board of the Greater Hartford Chapter of MADD and Capital Towers which provides affordable housing in Hartford, CT.
Deborah, who resides in West Hartford, enjoys spending time with her husband Mark, an architect, and two grown daughters. She loves to travel, focus on fitness, and play golf.
