Meet the Team

With over 35 years of experience in financial services, Denis M. Horrigan works closely with individuals, families, and especially business owners navigating the complexities of growth, transition, and succession. As a business owner himself, he co-founded Connecticut Wealth Management (CTWM) and continues to bring a deep understanding of what it takes to build, scale, and sustain an organization. Denis is passionate about guiding other business owners through critical decisions while keeping their personal and professional goals aligned.

Additionally, Denis serves as a brand ambassador for CTWM and is actively engaged in the broader business community. He has been featured on multiple podcasts discussing wealth management, entrepreneurship, and community leadership. He has had numerous guest appearances on NBC Connecticut, Fox61 and WTNH News 8, and has been quoted in articles in both local and national publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Hartford Business Journal, Investment News, and thestreet.com.

Education

Denis graduated from Siena College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP^®) licensee and a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA^®).

Affiliations & Community Involvement

Denis is a member of the Simsbury-Granby Rotary Club and sits on the boards of the CBIA, Hartford Youth Scholars (HYS), the Connecticut Health Foundation, McLean Care, and the Connecticut Financial Planning Association (FPA). He also serves on the Investment Committees at McLean and the Connecticut Health Foundation. Denis remains committed to giving back, supporting local nonprofits in Sunapee, New Hampshire, including the Lake Sunapee Protective Association.

Previously, Denis served on the board of Capital Workforce Partners, the Professional Advisory Committee for the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, and was a founding board member of the Connecticut Rugby Union. He also dedicated many years to coaching youth sports and started the rugby program at Simsbury High School.

Denis has been recognized as a Five Star Wealth Manager* by Crescendo Business Services (2010-2024); the elite list appearing annually in Connecticut Magazine. He has been recognized as a top advisor by Medical Economics (2011-2017) and was selected as one of the “40 under Forty” by the Hartford Business Journal (2007). Outside of work, Denis enjoys paddle tennis and golf, as well as time with his family, two dogs, and his extended community in both Connecticut and New Hampshire.
