Partner, Trust Services

Heather Rhoades serves as Partner, Trust Services at Connecticut Wealth Management (CTWM), where she leads the development of the firm’s trust services offering. Drawing on more than 27 years of experience, she works closely with clients, their families, and their advisory teams to integrate trust planning and wealth transfer strategies into a comprehensive financial plan. Her work helps clients navigate complex planning decisions with clarity and confidence in support of their financial, family, and legacy goals.

Heather brings extensive experience advising high-net-worth individuals, multigenerational families, and business owners on trust and estate matters. Prior to joining CTWM, she was a Partner with Cummings & Lockwood, LLC, most recently serving as Chair of the firm’s Private Clients Group. There, she counseled clients on estate planning, trust administration, charitable planning, estate settlement, and business succession. Her transition to CTWM allows her to leverage her trust and estate planning experience within an integrated advisory environment, enhancing the firm’s ability to deliver holistic solutions for clients and their families.

Heather is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), a distinction recognizing the highest level of professional achievement in the trusts and estates field. She has also been recognized by Chambers High Net Worth (2017-2025) and The Best Lawyers in America® (2013-2026) for her work in trusts and estate law.

Education & Certifications

Heather earned her Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from the University of Connecticut School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Connecticut.

Affiliations & Community Involvement

Heather has been actively involved in advancing the trusts and estates profession throughout her career. She served on the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association and is a past president of the Estate and Business Planning Council of Hartford. She has also served on the Philanthropy Committee of the Editorial Advisory Board for Trusts & Estates Magazine.

Heather resides in Glastonbury with her husband, Jon, their dog, Muck, and their horses. Outside of the office, she enjoys trail running, equestrian activities, and volunteering with animal sanctuaries. She is passionate about animal welfare and spending time outdoors.
